HOCINE ZIANI
JeHOCINE
ZIANI was born on 31 August 1953 in Dellys , Algeria.
His painting stems from the very particular style of the Alger
Orientalist School , with its landscapes and desert nomads, its
still lives , portraits and battle scenes…
He carried
out his first personal exhibition in 1979 in Alger and then he
participated in many collective exhibitions in Algeria and abroad:
1982 Exhibitions at the American Cultural Center and at the British
Council in Alger.
1983 Exhibitions in Tunis.
1984 Contribution towards the Foundation of a Military Museum
through paintings illustrating the history of Algeria.
1987 Honorary Diploma awarded by the Algerian Republic Presidency.
1988 Low relief and wall ceramic dedicated to the City of Religane.
From the 1990s on , his works have been exhibited in French picture
galleries and he has been participating in the Parisian French
Artists Show.
In 1997 he won the Karl BEULE Prize awarded by the Paris Academy
of Arts and got a medal during the Parisian French Artists Show.
Ziani's work is housed by the Buenos Aires Museum of History ,
by the Alger National Museum of Fine Arts and by many private
collections in Algeria , Germany , Austria , in the US and the
United Kingdom , in France and Belgium , in Tunisia and Morocco
, in Japan.
